Extracurricular Activities and Cultural Events
Vienna is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It hosts numerous international organizations such as the UN Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and OPEC, and it is an important cultural center with many theaters, concert halls and museums. The city also provides many athletic and recreational activities, such as biking, swimming and skating. WU offers an orientation 3 weeks prior to the start of the semester which includes sight seeing, field trips and presentations on Austria. Exchange students can also benefit from the academic advisors that are specifically selected for each WU partner university. Finally, The Austrian Students' Union at WU provides exchange students with a "buddy" to act as a personal mentor.

DePaul law students may live in dorms with other Austrian and international students or may rent private housing. Those wishing to live in dorms must apply by May 15 for winter semester and November 15 for summer semester and pay a deposit.

All students participating in study abroad will be charged both tuition and a program fee. Tuition is billed at the student's regular DePaul tuition rate based on the number of credits enrolled. Click for the Fall quarter fee or the Winter-Spring term fee for your program. Read the details carefully to understand exactly what is included. Please also note the withdrawal policy.

DePaul offers several types of scholarships for students studying abroad, and students should visit the scholarship page early in the application process for information on eligibility and deadlines. Students are also encouraged to speak with the DePaul financial aid office for more information about financing their study abroad experience.

If you are planning to study abroad and do not have a passport, apply for one immediately. Nationals of non-EU/EEA countries need an entry visa or residence permit for entry into and residence in Austria. You can find further information about visas here.
