Jason M. Bristow Endowed Study Abroad Scholarship (Scholarship Program)

Program Description:

The Jason M. Bristow Endowed Study Abroad Scholarship is an award of $2,000 given to one student annually. DePaul students studying in one of DePaul's term-long programs in Hungary or Poland are eligible, including adult and returning students.

Eligibility
Candidates must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.000 and have been admitted to one of DePaul's term-long programs to Hungary or Poland. Preference is given to full-time students enrolled in the College of Business.

Recipients' responsibilities after receiving the scholarship:
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA during the program abroad.
  • Successfully participate in the indicated program.
  • Carry out a project that promotes study abroad to other students at DePaul University.
Proposed Project
Completed upon return, projects should promote study abroad to other DePaul students. Examples include:
  • Presentations (to specific classes, student groups or community members)
  • An exhibit or performance (photography or other creative work)
  • A scholarly article or series of articles to be presented at student conferences or published in student journals
Selection Process & Criteria
Applicants will be reviewed by a committee that may include faculty, staff, past scholarship recipients or other student leaders. The committee will review the applications and make their recommendations based on the applicant's academic record, their articulation of the program's fit for their academic/career goals, and the originality and feasibility of the proposed follow-up project. There is one deadline annually, regardless of in which term you study abroad. This deadline may be ahead of your program application deadline.
